How Long Do the Balloons Last?
Real float times — no surprises on the day.
We tell you upfront so you can plan inflation timing around your event. Float times are for indoor use at 20–25°C. Outdoors, summer heat or aircon can shorten times.
Helium Latex (standard)
Standard 11″ or 12″ latex balloons filled with helium. Inflate the morning of your event — ready by evening, deflated by the next morning.
One day onlyHelium Latex + Hi-Float
Same balloons treated with Hi-Float gel before inflation. Lasts 3× longer. Available as a $0.50/balloon add-on at our Balloon Bar.
2–3 daysHelium Foil / Mylar
Shape balloons, number balloons and letter balloons. Filled with helium, lasts up to a week indoors. Perfect for week-of celebrations or hospital gifts.
One weekAir-Filled Latex (Garlands)
Organic balloon garlands and installations are air-filled (no helium). They sit on backdrops or walls and look perfect for 2–3 weeks indoors before deflating.
Long lastingAir-Filled Foil Shapes
Letter balloons, number balloons and shaped foil balloons filled with air (not helium). Mounted on sticks or attached to walls/garlands. The longest-lasting option.
Longest lastingOutdoor Helium
Helium balloons outdoors in summer heat (above 25°C) deflate faster — expect 3–6 hours. For outdoor events we recommend Hi-Float or scheduling inflation closer to start time.
Weather dependentQuick tips to make balloons last longer
- Inflate close to event time. The longer between inflation and party, the more deflation you'll see. We can deliver inflated 1–2 hours before start.
- Add Hi-Float ($0.50/balloon) to triple the float time on latex.
- Keep them indoors and out of direct sun. A hot car or sunny backyard kills helium float fast.
- Mix helium + air-filled. Garlands and installations use air-filled balloons that last weeks. Save helium for the showpieces.
- Foil/mylar balloons are the long-lasters. If you need balloons to look perfect for a week, choose foil over latex.
